Draftsmen Congress at the New Museum, NYC

Draftsmen Congress at the New Museum, NYC

As a proud member of CBIG (Children’s Books Illustrators Group) , I’ll be participating tomorrow, Sunday, February 16th at 2 am in an exciting program at the New Museum in New York City.

Draftsmen’s Congress is probably the most unique art event where illustrators, graphic designers, art professors, cartoonists, engineers, painters and printmakers get together to create art that will take up the entire fourth floor space of the museum.
This event created by the artist Pawel Althamer first took place at the Berlin Biennale 2012. A new event will recreate that experience at the New Museum in association with an exhibit of Althamer’s art.
At the end of the congress, the work will be divided into pieces and distributed to the public and the participants for free.

The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik

I saw a great show last night. The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik. A fantastic treat that combines animation, clever puppetry and a beautiful story.

Not that I have anything against Broadway but it’s so refreshing  to see a one man show, where fingers, glove, plastic bag and a flash light transform into magical beings, jelly fish, sea creatures and  much much more.
