School visit at Cedar Elementary School

At Cedar Elementary School in Yonkers, NY, we created selfies and got to write stories about the most amazing protagonists – ourselves.

We were also inspired by such great illustrators as Chris Van Allsberg and created calligraphy with our initials.

Our motto was Imagination and I even wore my Imagination cap and sprinkled a good dose of Imagination with my magic wand.

This program was made possible by ArtsExcel with generous funds through a New York State Assembly Grant to the Yonkers City School District  in partnership with ArtsWestchester.

I am so proud to be a participating author/illustrator in this venue.

Special thanks to Assemblywoman Shelly Mayer District 90 who actually took time off her busy schedule to attend our incredible and impressive art show and to Assemblyman J. Gary Pretlow, Assembly District 89Gary Pretlow, Assembly District 89. cedar selfiescedar exhibit with assembly woman

Author’s school visit

I had tons of fun telling my story, The Klezmer Bunch to the most amazing group of youngsters at Prime Time in Westchester, NY.

I wore a pot on my head ¬†because that’s what my protagonist does and brought along another character from my story, Masha the goat.

The kids really loved Masha. They danced with her to Klezmer music and made music with tambourines.
