Yom Kipur Break the fast

On Yom Kipur break the fast, we have a tradition of sculpting a head of a fish from white fish salad to symbolize our wish to be the head, not the tail of the year to come.

We combine Ashkenazic  foods like bagels & lox with my Middle Eastern recipes: mushrooms stuffed with humus, tabouleh, roasted cauliflower sprinkled with zatar, silan (honey from dates) with crushed peanuts dip, labaneh with cucumber & dill salad, dates stuffed with goat cheese, sprinkled with crushed walnuts  & lots of dried fruits.
