One thing that I love to do on my blog is write reviews for new incredible picture books .
Such book is Martin & Anne: The Kindred Spirits of Dr. martin Luther King, Jr. and Anne Frank, written by a fellow member of our Book Meshuggenahs Group, Nancy Churnin and illustrated by the talented, Yevgenia Nayberg.
This is a beautifully illustrated and inspiring book that compares two individuals who suffered and endured prejudice, racism and humiliation, yet gifted the world a message of peace. equality and hope – Dr. Martin Luther King and Anne Frank.
the book spreads are artistically designed by the illustrator to give that feeling of comparison by portraying Anne on one side and Martin on the other so the reader can feel the similarities between their lives.
The richly textured illustrations give the book a poetic feeling that marvelously compliment this well told story.
Although essentially a picture book, adults will be inspired by it as well.
A must for every school, library or anyone who believes in diversity and equality.
